September is Gynecologic Cancer Awareness Month. Gynecologic cancers are those that begin in the female reproductive organs. Every woman is at risk for these cancers, and unfortunately the risks often increase with age.
While some gynecologic cancers can be detected through early screening processes, others are discovered only when subtle symptoms are present. That's why it is so important to be both aware of the symptoms associated with the various cancers, and aware of your body and what’s normal for you.

Ovarian Cancer – A Common Gynecologic Cancer Over 20,000 women in the U. S. will develop ovarian cancer this year. Unfortunately, most won’t be aware of its presence in their lives until it has spread beyond the early stages. In part, because this form of cancer displays only a few subtle symptoms - if any at all - prior to its spread beyond the ovaries.
