I heard you have an atrium and meditation labyrinth. Where are these located?
The Atrium and Healing Garden is located on the 5th floor of The Lacks Cancer Center. The meditation labyrinth and water garden are also located on the 5th floor, however, they are open only during the warmer months.

Where is Breast Services located?
Breast Services is located on the 2nd floor of The Lacks Cancer Center.

What are Business Center Services?
The Business Center Services are located in the Warren Reynolds Library, for more information click here.

Where can I get a cup of coffee?
The Shoppe serves coffee, as well as beverages and snacks, a wide selection of gifts can also be found there. It is located near the Lafayette entrance of The Lacks Cancer Center.

Where can I make arrangements for a disabled patient or visitor?
Saint Mary’s takes steps to ensure that the needs of all patients and visitors are met. If you need special arrangements, please notify your nurse or a Guest Relations representative at (616) 752-5200.

Is there a special place for a patient’s family and friends to hang out and relax?
The Lacks Cancer Center has a family lounge on the 4th floor, which was specifically created for friends and family members to relax, enjoy a meal, watch TV or play games. Equipped with a plasma screen television, comfortable oversized furniture and a kitchen, the Family Lounge is available for use 24 hours a day.

Are gift certificates available?
Yes, gift cards are available for personal care products and gift shop items at The Shoppe, located near the Lafayette entrance of The Lacks Cancer Center.

What makes The Lacks Cancer Center a green building?
As only the second hospital in the nation to receive LEED Certification, The Lacks Cancer Center was required to meet a list of stringent qualifications, such as using building materials that are free of cancer causing agents.

I know that holistic therapies such as massage and acupuncture are provided for inpatients free of charge. Can visitors and guests schedule these therapies as well?
The Wege Institute: Mind, Body and Spirit at Saint Mary's offers an array of holistic healing services for inpatients and their families including acupuncture, massage, neurofeedback, holistic health consults and more. These services are available to patients free of charge, however friends and family will be asked to pay an hourly rate. What are the hospital’s hours?

Where are the inpatient rooms located?
Our 42-room inpatient area is located on the 4th floor.

If you or your family member needs the assistance of a language interpreter while receiving care at The Lacks Cancer Center, please notify your Cancer Resource Specialist. We have interpreter services available 24 hours a day at no cost.

Where is the pharmacy located and what are its hours of operation?
Located on the main level of The Wege Center, across the street from The Lacks Cancer Center on Lafayette St., the pharmacy offers a wide array of prescription medications and over-the-counter products, as well as greeting cards and film processing. Its hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Are Personal Services items such as bras, breast forms and wigs typically in stock?
Yes, many of the items are in stock. If by chance they are not, we will have the order shipped to you within one to two days.

Do I need an appointment for a bra fitting/wig fitting?
Appointments are required so that we may offer each individual our undivided attention. Please call (616) 752-5030 for bra/breast form fittings. Call (616) 752-5200 for a wig fitting or cosmetics consultation.

Inpatients have access to a personal chef. Can visitors place special food orders as well?
We encourage patients to have family members or friends share meals with them. For that reason, family members or friends can order meals from The Lacks Cancer Center room service menu for a small fee.

I would like to send flowers/gifts to an inpatient. When is the best time to do this? To what address?
Mail and flowers are delivered to patients Monday through Friday. If they arrive after the patient is released, they will be forwarded to the patient’s home address. Items should be sent to:

Is there a smoking lounge/area? The Lacks Cancer Center is committed to a healthy environment that is free of second hand smoke. Because of this, and our commitment to fighting cancer, our entire campus is a smoke free zone including all hospital buildings, parking areas, driveways, walkways and the property surrounding our campus.
