In The News Lacks Cancer Center is The First with Revolutionary Radiation Technology. Tewfik J. Bichay, PhD, the Director of Medical Physics at Saint Mary’s Health Care recently was granted a patent for his invention of a new system of delivering radiation therapy. Called the “doorless entry” system, the innovation has been in use at The Lacks Cancer Center since its opening. This new system decreases both the patient’s stress level, as well as radiation leakage from the treatment room.
