We are the only center in West Michigan that provides dermoscopy, a state-of-the-art screening and diagnostic tool that uses very sensitive digital photography to make a full body “map” of an individual’s skin. The dermoscope is equipped with a computer program that stores personal “maps” and other pertinent information, which helps dermatologists identify suspicious moles that change over time, and are more likely to contain melanoma. This is an invaluable tool for patients with a great number of suspicious pigmented skin tumors that cannot practically be removed, or that require close monitoring.
